SENIOR GRAPHIC DESIGNER
Donna Bella Hair is a quality Remy hair extension brand marketed to both consumers and stylists. They are positioned as a budget-friendly option under the Beauty Industry Group umbrella. Beauty Industry Group holds 13 other hair extension brands, including Bellami, Hidden Crown, and Luxy. Donna Bella Hair is one of the more popular brands in Beauty Industry Group so they have a dedicated marketing team entirely staffed with senior position roles. I thrived in this high-expectation environment and appreciated the ability to work with designers and channel managers from other brands.
Donna Bella Hair’s brand is playful, empowering, and solution-oriented. I worked with our other DBH Senior Designer to modernize the brand by updating their brand guide, regularly collaborating on concept decks, updating photography, and working with Beauty Industry Group’s development team to improve the website. Our team was small so I had many opportunities to be hands on in various parts of the brand including creating shot lists and aiding in production at our photoshoots as well as conducting research and presenting my findings.
Aside from modernizing the brand, much of my work was focused on designing compelling campaigns on a monthly basis. These campaigns typically were themed around product launches, promotions, education, and brand awareness. While Donna Bella’s team had a solid process for working through campaigns from concepting to channel manager approval and execution, I saw opportunities to improve their process through new software and practices to help streamline and speed up our timelines, as well as improve our feedback cycles. One of the major upgrades I implemented was switching our team from Adobe XD for design and Dropbox for feedback decks to collaborative Figma design files with brand components I built out and FigJam for more comprehensive feedback.

Social Posts
and Stories
Donna Bella Hair has lively social accounts, focusing mostly on Facebook, Instagram, and Tiktok. Because hair extensions can be complex and the pricing is seen as an investment, customers and followers appreciate coming to our accounts for information-packed posts. DBH often uses carousel posts and social stories to educate as well as announce launches promote sales, build out brand awareness.

Social Ads
I collaborated with Beauty Industry Group’s Paid Ads Director and Donna Bella Hair’s Social Media Manager to concept and execute paid media designs for our monthly promotions. Our audiences included consumers and stylists, and we segmented our target messaging into top through bottom funnel groups.

Email Design
Consistent and informative email marketing was a large part of Donna Bella Hair’s marketing initiatives. I worked with Beauty Industry Group’s Email Manager and Donna Bella Hair’s Copywriter to put together enticing emails for our customers. Because of the nature of hair extensions, our customers included both stylists and consumers, and were often repeat customers. These customers responded well to long-form emails that were informative and photo-centric.
