iFIT is a proprietary interactive home fitness app used by NordicTrack and Proform machines. While iFIT has been around since 1977 (previously ICON Fitness), in recent years iFIT has been fleshing out a more personalized experience for customers by providing everything they need for every step of their fitness journey. Starting in 2020, this included a nutrition section of the company. The nutrition team started with a small team and I was a foundational designer. This gave me an opportunity to start our creative team on the right foot using the years of experience I’ve had with building processes and recommending software and platforms.
As the child company of iFIT, I needed to find ways to create digital and print deliverables for iFIT Nutrition that were fun, educational, and culinary-inspired — yet on-brand for the sporty parent company. As a foundational designer, I fleshed out the company’s branding guidelines, designed for events, created labels and social posts, and even created seasonal cookbooks!

iFIT Nutrition Cookbooks
iFIT Nutrition’s team had a Nutritionist and a Registered Dietitian on staff who assisted in formulating supplements, building meal plans, and creating healthy cookbooks. The cookbooks were some of my favorite design projects! Putting together a constant, accurate, 200+ page book was a satisfying challenge. The layout needed to include the macronutrient profiles of each recipe while keeping the recipes themselves clear to read at a glance on 8.5” x 5.5” pages. I worked directly with the printers, reviewing paper options and color accuracy in-person.

The Objective
I was brought onto the iFIT Nutrition team to give the sub-brand its own upbeat, feminine-leaning style while maintaining harmony with iFIT’s strong, sleek branding. Before I joined the company, iFIT produced a small run of protein powders and BCAA supplements – designed by borrowed designers on a quick deadline. While they were able to come up with something decent and on-brand, iFIT’s overall company branding was evolving and nutrition needed to move with it.

The Solution
I began the process by choosing three words per direction to use as a north star when building out their branding. I then created “stylescapes” to aid in visualizing a direction for all future design decisions.
I began the process by choosing three words per direction to use as a north star when building out their branding. I then created “stylescapes” to aid in visualizing a direction for all future design decisions.
Initially the bottom “Warm. Jovial. Spirited.” stylescape was chosen for its bright colors, ingredients focus, and homey feeling. Later on the direction was pivoted to reflect the middle “Simple. Savvy. Smart.” stylescape in order to align better with the overall iFIT rebrand.
Final Packaging
I worked closely with a creative and marketing director, product sourcing, and printers to create a consistent, engaging line of nutrition products.
Unfortunately due to changes in the company structure and priorities, the iFIT Nutrition line was discontinued and many of the products never made it to the storefront. Please enjoy the imagery I was able to capture regardless!

Digital Design
A huge perk to having nutritionists on-staff is being able to utilize their knowledge for educational content. iFIT Nutrition made daily posts on Instagram and Facebook, so I’ve created many types of infographics to make complex nutritional advice easier to understand.
